Curt Bauerly grew up in Northwest Iowa playing with such acts as Euthanasia, Robot Meets Man, and Flyswatter. After graduating with a degree in philosophy from the University of Iowa, he spent years cutting his teeth performing on the New York City and Los Angeles open mic circuits. After audio engineering school, he secured an internship helping out in the studio during the recording of Bruno Mars’ Grammy Award-winning 24K Magic LP. After that, he worked for artists CeeLo Green, Amanda Palmer and Jherek Bischoff. In 2018, he moved to Nashville and recruited lead guitarist Lyle Caine (Evanzen Ethereal Blues Continuum) to develop Visceral Nifty into his own performance and songwriting vehicle.
Conjured from the mists of the Ethereal Realms, a harbinger of Dream-Pop for the masses, enter Sky Mercury.
The warm analog tones of Ms. Mercury harken back to the days of eclectic Pop-Rock-Indie-Retro divas of times past. We are excited to welcome Sky Mercury to the Nick Goovnia Music artists family and look forward to her upcoming releases.

Born and bred in L.A.’s sun-soaked San Fernando Valley, Lyle Caine always had entertainment in his veins. Son of the renowned actor, the late Howard Caine, who played ‘Major Hochstetter’ on Hogan’s Heroes, he spent his formative years listening to Little Feat, Steely Dan, and Jimi Hendrix among others. After spending years playing with such Los Angeles acts as The Path, Face Down, and Soul 7 he eventually hooked up with producer Curt Bauerly (Visceral Nifty, The No Chino Slush) and developed a sound all his own. Released in 2021, his albums Evanzen Ethereal Blues Continuum and Thinking Outside the Bollocks skillfully conflate his classic rock influences with an unmistakable New Orleans second-line groove.
When Stereomoxie launched in the winter months of 2021 and set about creating and recording material for their self-titled debut EP, it was strictly as a labor of love for industry stalwarts Brandon Henegar and Curt Bauerly. Conflating cacophonies with modal experimentation, this Nashville duo is the latest outfit to populate the still quasi-barren Dreamgaze and Post-Jazz landscapes.
Born and raised in Music City, Steve Meadows didn’t realize he was a songwriter until he was in his 60s. Growing up in Vine Hill on the south side, most of his friends listened to the country and western music that his hometown is famous for but he mostly found himself jamming out to Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers and Uriah Heep. In 2020, he teamed up with producer and engineer Curt Bauerly (Visceral Nifty, The No Chino Slush) and lead guitarist Lyle Caine (Evanzen Ethereal Blues Continuum) to record a series of EPs whose themes deal with everything from the personal growth that comes after heartbreak to spirituality and metaphysics.
This Post-Sadcore project was conceived in Los Angeles in 2012 and is a supergroup of sorts. The duo, comprised of Sky Mercury and Visceral Nifty, specializes in blending existential musings with dystopian soundscapes.
The soundtrack to some of the earliest memories of The No Chino Slush band members were the drum machines of the 2nd British Invasion's Naked Eyes and Human League. Mingling shoegazey guitars with layered synthesizers, this middle Tennessee outfit's musical philosophy is decidedly melody-centric and experimental.
Formulated in the waning days of 2021 as the brainchild of Curt Bauerly (Visceral Nifty, The No Chino Slush) and Nathan Miller, Zebra Mussel's genre-crushing sound is equal parts sonic assault and ear candy.
Ron Balcarras hails from the deep South of Ontario, Canada and landed in the deep South of Nashville just over 25 years ago. Yes, he is a double deep Southerner. Being a dual citizen of two great countries makes him Bi-Country (his pronouns are He/Him/His). Beginning this songwriting journey at 61 has been a dream come true and with mentors like Steve Meadows and Curt Bauerly, the best is yet to come. He is influenced by New Wave, R&B, Country, Classical, Pop, and EDM. Drawing from his past and living in the present is TNCANUCK’s inspiration for writing. Enjoy the ride, it will be a fun one.
When Mocha Cadre was in its nascent stages, it embraced the Eastern red-cedar as a symbol of calm and serenity against the vicissitudes of the ages. Eternally curious, this group seeks to find what (if any) aural wonders can be uncovered near the intersection of piano-based minor blues, Lofi-Jazz, and Dreamwave.
